The rating systems aim to provide designers, builders and architects guidelines to apply green concepts in built areas and achieve measurable, positive environmental impacts.

The IGBC Green Affordable Housing rating system is the first-of-its-kind rating system to address sustainability and promote higher living standards for occupants across all strata of society. “The Green Affordable Housing rating is applicable for housing projects designed with carpet-area less than or equal to 60 sq meter per dwelling unit, which constitute at least 70% of the total project built up area throughout India,” the release said.
